Priyanka Chopra turns a comic strip heroine - Exclusive Video

Actress Priyanka Chopra is now set to be the heroine of a comic strip.

Its not exactly a demotion from the big screen to comics, but just a foray by the lovely Bollywood lady into a new stream.

British entrepreneur Richard Branson approached Priyanka for a comic character, for which the actress has given her nod. It's been more than a year since Priyanka and Branson are working together for this new comic series. There are two projects the first one is a superhero story with the main character that looks like Priyanka and borrows from her life, while other is a fictional story.

After an eventful 2008, Priyanka is going places. She is selected for the Nielson Box Office Award at 3rd Annual Asian Film Awards to be held on March 23. She has been chosen for her exceptional contribution to Asian Films.

Recently, she was invited to give her foot imprints at Italy's Salvatore Feragamo Musuem, the mecca of shoe fashion. Priyanka is the only actress and the second woman from India to be invited there; the first one was the Maharani of Cooch Behar.

As for now, the lady is waiting for her the release of her film Kaminey in which she plays a feisty character of Sweeti opposite Shahid Kapur and she is portraying altogether 12 characters for Ashutosh Gowarikar's next What's Your Raashi .

Jersey Shore punch clip pulled by MTV, YouTube

MTV usually pulls no punches when it comes to some of the over-the-top reality television it airs. Shows such as The Real World and its various dating game shows have held nothing back in terms of sex, violence and Rock N' Roll. However, a recent episode of MTV's newest reality show "Jersey Shore" took things to a new level when a male appearing on the show was caught on camera punching a female star of the show.

The Jersey Shore punch clip incident saw lead star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi get up in another man's face at a club. The man, identified as a NYC gym teacher named Lou Ferro, delivers a vicious punch to her face, causing Snooki to hit the deck, KO'd from the shot. It was reported that Ferro, age 24 was arrested the same night due to his violent assault of the female star. Snooki suffered an injury to the mouth from the assault.

MTV made the following statement Friday regarding the incident and why they've decided against airing the incident:

"What happened to "Snooki" was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing. After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air "Snooki" being physically punched in next week's episode." The clip went viral soon after the media began airing it on television and discussing the incident. YouTube removed the Snooki getting punched video from its website as well. Meanwhile, Italian-Americans have become offended by the show and how it portrays "guidos" and "guidettes".

Snooki appeared on The Wendy Williams Show on Friday and defended the show, saying the people the show spotlights are all just good-looking people who "like to make a scene and be center of attention". Point taken, as the Jersey Shore punch clip makes quite a scene, and speaks largely about what a large portion of viewers want to see on TV shows these days.
